Tensions are escalating at Malda Medical College as students rally against the transfer of Dr. Arunabh Dutta Choudhary, the Head of the Chest Medicine Department from RG Kar Medical College. The decision to transfer Dr. Dutta Choudhary to Malda Medical, following the recent tragic incident of rape and murder at RG Kar, has sparked widespread anger among the medical students in Malda.
Students argue that if Dr. Dutta Choudhary had not been negligent in his duties, the transfer wouldn't have been necessary. They view the move as an attempt to suppress the issue by relocating him to a smaller medical center like Malda. In a show of solidarity, the students have vowed to prevent him from entering the campus, emphasizing their determination to fight together against his appointment.
Principal Partha Pratim Mukherjee of Malda Medical College has acknowledged the students' concerns, stating that he has seen the transfer order online but has not yet received an official copy. The situation remains tense, with students prepared to resist the transfer in any way they can.
